The WNBA made a huge announcement in regards to Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark and the former MVP, Las Vegas Aces superstar A'ja Wilson , Tuesday afternoon.

Many believe that Clark has slowly closed the gap to A'ja Wilson as an MVP candidate as the season winds down; however, Wilson has continued to be absolutely extraordinary on the basketball court, as has Clark.

After unreal weeks from both, they walked away with Eastern and Western conference Player of the Week honors. For the second consecutive week, Clark has received the honor, and this is the fifth for Wilson.

Clark has averaged a staggering 24.3 points, 9.0 assists, and 5.0 rebounds. While Wilson has averaged a jaw-dropping 36.3 points, 13.0 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks per game.

While Clark has narrowed the gap, that gap is still very large. Wilson is on track to unanimously win the MVP once again, and she deserves it. However, Clark has solidified her rookie of the year campaign and is now a heavy favorite to win that award.

She has the Fever well within playoff contention, and Indiana is currently on a four-game winning streak with just seven games remaining. It is the first time since 2016 that Indiana is above .500.

Wilson and the Aces, on the other hand, are in an odd position. They will more than likely make the postseason; however, they had a little bit of a skid after the Olympic hiatus. But they have won their last two games are beginning to heat up at the right time.

Nonetheless, these two have been miraculous in every aspect of the game and have continued to be key ambassadors for the growth of the sport.
