Michigan State Football News: Mark Dantonio to be honored with induction into football Ring of Honor

Mark Dantonio is set to have his name added to the Michigan State football Ring of Honor, a fitting recognition for his significant contributions to the program.

Dantonio, who took over as head coach in 2007, revitalized the Spartans after a long stretch without bowl appearances. In his first season, he led the team to seven wins, marking a turnaround that would set the tone for years to come. During his tenure, Dantonio guided the Spartans to three Big Ten championships and multiple top-five finishes in the national rankings, a feat not seen since the days of legendary coach Duffy Daugherty. By the end of his coaching career in 2019, Dantonio had amassed a record of 114 wins and 57 losses, making him the winningest coach in Michigan State history.
