'Talking Crazy!' Floyd Reveals Aaron Rodgers Backlash From Jets Fans

Heading into last season, New York Jets fans excitement was at an all-time high. Four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers had done and said all the right things throughout training camp, and you could feel the electricity in the building when he carried that American flag onto the field.

Four plays in, total silence. Rodgers had dropped back to pass and was scrambling to his right as he was under immediate duress from Buffalo Bills linebacker Leonard Floyd.

Floyd dragged him down for a sack. Rodgers got up and then sat back down. Something was wrong and the medical staff came on to evaluate the situation. Rodgers was carted off the field that night with a season-ending rupture Achilles tendon.

Floyd was recently on the Adam Schefter podcast and revealed the hate-filled messages he received from disgruntled Jets fans.

“The fans just made threats ... hoping the worst for me, basically. I didn't pay no mind to it, I'm using it as my crutch for this game, as my motivation,” Floyd said. “They was talking crazy.”

Of course, Schefter was curious as to what kinds of things they were saying, and his answer might surprise you.

“I hope you die; I hope something happens to your family,” Floyd began. “It was just a whole bunch of different things in my inbox. And I'm like dang I'm just playing football; I'm not trying to hurt him.”

Football is a violent contact sport and players have the capacity to be injured on every single play. We definitely understand the heartache fans feel when something like this happens, but this type of reaction is completely out of line.

“I knew that I wasn't trying to hurt him because Aaron's one of my favorite QBs to go against, one of my favorites to watch,” Floyd added.

Leonard will once again face off with the Jets and Rodgers on Week 1, but this time as a member of the San Francisco 49ers.

After watching the interview and hearing all the things fans said to him, we just have two words in response ... Do better.
