Jordan Chiles Reflects on Her Experience at 2024 Paris Olympics

Thanks to the bronze-medal controversy that’s played out over the last three-plus weeks, the 2024 Paris Olympics will likely always have a bit of an asterisk for USA gymnast Jordan Chiles.

However, that doesn’t mean the entire experience left a bad taste in her mouth.

During a recent exclusive interview with Allure, Chiles admitted that while the highlight of the trip may not exactly be a good one, the rest of her experience — particularly the non-competition moments she shared with her teammates — is a memory she can reflect on fondly.

“I do look back at a lot of [the TikToks from that time] and go, ‘Oh wow, we were actually in Paris and we did that,’” Chiles said . “We did all these amazing things as athletes, but also as friends as well. It’s cool to be scrolling and remember what time it was and where it was and what we were doing. The fan ones are pretty cool, too.”

Though she was officially stripped of her bronze medal, Chiles still won gold in the team final in Paris, giving her two career Olympic medals along with the silver she won in the team final in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

There’s also still a chance the 23-year-old could get her bronze medal back. USA Gymnastics and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee have appealed to the Swiss Federal Tribunal to overrule the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s decision to take Chiles’ medal away.

The Romanian Gymnastics Federation is also petitioning the Swiss Federal Tribunal to let Chiles, Ana Barbosu and Sabrina Voinea all share the bronze medal given the controversy surrounding their scores.

As Chiles waits for the appeal processes to play out, she’s joining Olympic teammates Simone Biles, Jade Carey and Hezly Rivera for the Gold Over America Tour this summer. She event will travel the country, stopping in more than 30 cities and putting on a gymnastics/dance hybrid show.
