Angel Reese's Failed Play vs. A'ja Wilson is Turning Heads

A'ja Wilson put up another masterclass on both ends of the floor on Tuesday night, as she led the Las Vegas Aces to an easy 90-71 victory at home over Angel Reese and the free-falling Chicago Sky.

Wilson was unstoppable on offense and created all sorts of problems for the Sky as a defensive behemoth. Reese can attest to that. For one, the former LSU Tigers star had one of her shot attempts emphatically erased by Wilson.

A two-time WNBA Defensive Player of the Year, Wilson finished the game with three blocks to go with 30 points and 14 rebounds while making 10-of-19 attempts from the floor.

Fans on social media definitely took notice of Wilson’s block on Reese.

“I love the fact that AR [Angel Reese] gave up a bucket to A’ja [Wilson] and then came down to her end and immediately went after her,” commented @CArezident.

“She took it personal and I love that. The problem with AR and that she has no up’s on her shot, barely leaves the ground. Needs to use her body more to make space.”

Reese had a productive outing herself, albeit in a loss. She had 12 points and 16 rebounds but unlike Wilson, the rookie was inefficient with her shots, draining only 4-of-12 attempts from the field.

The Aces, who are already assured of a playoff spot, improved to 21-12 with the win. The Sky, on the other hand, have dropped to 11-22 and are now on a seven-game winless skid.
