Angel Reese Sends Strong Message After Helping Caitlin Clark, Fever Clinch Playoff Berth

Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese sent a bold message via her Instagram on Wednesday after the Sky suffered their sixth straight loss and, with that loss, clinched a playoff berth for Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever .

Despite Reese playing very well over the stretch of games since the Olympic hiatus, the Sky have been playing very poor. They have fallen to 11-22 overall and have lost seven consecutive games. Currently hanging on to the final playoff spot by a thread with just seven games remaining.

However, with the possibility of still making the postseason, and less than 24 hours after the Fever clinched, she posted about long-term success over short-term success.

Tuesday night, Reese tallied 12 points, 16 rebounds, three assists, and two steals. She has continued her dominant run on the boards as one of the best rebounders in the entire WNBA , next to MVP frontrunner A'ja Wilson.

On the season, Reese is averaging 13.3 points, 13.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.3 steals. She is the fastest player to reach 20 doubles in WNBA history, and over her last seven games, Reese has hauled in 122 rebounds. A staggering statistic.

While she is now expected to finish second in rookie of the year voting, Angel Reese still has an opportunity to lead the Sky to the postseason and cap off her incredible regular season as one of the most impactful athletes in WNBA history.
