Kirk Herbstreit Names One College Football Freshman Who Is 'Holy Cow' Good

ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit shared high praise for one freshman at a powerhouse school after Week 1.

He believes Jeremiah Smith Jr., a wide receiver from Ohio State University is "holy cow" good after he saw the freshman secure two touchdowns on 96 yards and six receptions.

“Jeremiah Smith is holy cow good," Herbstreit said. "I mean I can’t wait to see what he’s gonna do with Emeka and the rest of the group they have there.”

The freshman is playing alongside an elite wide receiver core in Columbus, getting to share the field with former blue-chip prospects in Emeka Egbuka and Carnell Tate.

Smith committed to the Buckeyes as the No. 1 overall player in the class of 2023. The 18-year-old Florida native is the cousin of current Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith.

The freshman superstar was able to show out and prove he's an immediate impact player, making highlight plays much like the Seahawks quarterback.

Ohio State may have hosted Akron to start the season in Week 1, so fans may question Smith's ability against higher-level opponents, but he seems to be ready for the bright lights both physically and mentally.

The freshman will have another chance to show that he's "holy cow" good, in the words of Kirk Herbstreit, in Week 2 when the Buckeyes take on Western Michigan.
