Josh Pate Makes Bold Prediction for Oregon vs. Boise State

CBS college football analyst Josh Pate picked Oregon to cover a spread of 18.5 against Boise State this weekend, Pate announced on x.com on Wednesday.

After the Ducks limped through a 24-14 victory over Idaho, Pate believes the market is too low on Oregon, which entered the season as one of the favorites to win the national title.

As a result, Pate picked the Ducks to cover against the Broncos when they meet in Autzen Stadium this Saturday, to the dismay of some onlooking fans.

"Dude you realize Boise has Malachi Nelson who was a five-star right?" @willgtg901 replied to Pate's pick on x.com.

Considering Nelson was beat-out for the starting job by the Broncos' Maddux Madsen, Pate responded with a GIF of himself carelessly shrugging.

But, considering Oregon's struggles in week one, the disagreements with Pate's pick were plentiful

"I don't like this pick (in my opinion)," @cylcone_gav wrote. "Oregon is 0-3 against Boise (State)."

The Ducks lost to the Broncos in back-to-back seasons in 2008 and 2009 in addition to the 2017 Las Vegas Bowl.

"Games in 2017, 2009 and 2008 have nothing to do with this," Pate responded.

Kickoff between Oregon and Boise State is set for 7:00 p.m. PST on Saturday, where the Ducks will look to win their first-ever game against the Broncos.
