Lions head coach says 'unfortunately' more commercials are coming from him

If you haven't seen it yet, Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell was recently featured in a commercial for the restaurant chain, Applebee's.

Campbell appears as a server with the menu used as a play-call card, asking about a new special the restaurant has to offer.

As the restaurant-goer responds, Campbell interrupts the man, saying "Cover your mouth! They could steal your order."

It's a short 30-second ad that has gone viral on social media and has many excited to see Campbell star in a commercial.

Well, maybe not the head coach himself.

While speaking with reporters on Wednesday on various topics relating to the team and their first opponent Los Angeles Rams, Campbell was asked about the commercial and what got him to do it.

One reporter asked if he's ever had endorsements as a player, suggesting Campbell would do something relating to used car lots.

Campbell smiled, and said:

"Used car lots, huh? I like it. That does sound like me, right."

Here's what Campbell said about the Applebee's appearance:

"This was something, you know, I've been reluctant... my wife and my daughter constantly been like, 'you gotta do it! You gotta do it! Do this!' So they talked me into the Applebee's deal and I said alright, we'll do it. Anyway, look, I had fun with it. The staff and crew that worked with us were unbelievable. I mean the actors were awesome. I mean, they made it what it is. They were unbelievable. They made me feel comfortable. We just did it, you know? It's done."

Then Campbell added: "Unfortunately there's more to come I'm afraid."

Campbell said he had never done anything similar in his playing days but mentioned he did a smaller commercial when he played for the Dallas Cowboys. At the end of the press conference, he was asked what the commercial was for.

"Uh yeah, I'm not answering that," he said, as he exited the podium.

However, the commercial lives on YouTube, promoting season tickets for the Cowboys. Campbell appears in uniform without any lines said. You can watch it below.
