It has been a relatively silent offseason for the Los Angeles Lakers, as they have not landed a top free agent. That doesn't mean they've stopped making moves, though. One of the latest transactions the Lakers made involved signing 6'9" guard-forward Vincent Valerio-Bodon to a contract, the team announced via X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday.

Michael Scotto of HoopsHype also reported that Valerio-Bodon’s deal is an Exhibit 10, which is a one-year deal that's worth the NBA's minimum salary.

The 23-year-old Valerio-Bodon is no stranger to the Lakers, as he was signed by Los Angeles last year. He was released just before the start of the 2023-24 NBA season, leaving him to spend time in the G League. Valerio-Bodon 's reunion with the Lakers isn't exciting the fans, but they all brought jokes to react to this minor offseason development.

    “League is shaking😭,” commented @lakerfansmiley.

“We won the chip,” said @BronGotGame.

“To do what, hand out towels to Lebron?” joked @alanbarcoff.

“We don’t do so well with guys with hyphens in their names (JHS, THT, etc),” chimed in @echoteric.

    “We signed WHOOOOOOO?” asked @meowapy.

“We beating the nuggets now 😳,” declared @weepjng.

It's unlikely that Valerio-Bodon will make the Lakers' final roster for the 2024-25 campaign. But if Valerio-Bodon gets released before the season, he can choose to stay with the Lakers organization by opting to play for the South Bay Lakers in the G League – an option under an Exhibit 10 contract. Under that scenario, Valerio-Bodon would receive a $77,500 bonus if he sticks with South Bay for at least 60 days.

Valerio-Bodon averaged 5.1 points and 2.8 rebounds per game while making 39.1 percent of his 3-point attempts with South Bay last season.
