What Steph Curry Discovered About LeBron James During Olympics

It was a summer to remember for Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry after they led Team USA to an undefeated record en route to the gold medal in the Paris Olympics.

The two NBA MVPs spent a lot of time together in the City of Lights and both have expressed their fondness for each other, as their friendship has grown after their heated rivalry a few years ago.

As reported by People's Natasha Dye , the 36-year-old Curry said he saw LeBron's work ethic "up close and personal" in the Summer Games, and he's not surprised that the Lakers forward is still an elite player.

"It's everything that most people don't get to see," Curry said. "It's the time on the recovery table, it's the time in the weight room, it's day in, day out."

LeBron's work ethic is legendary. Despite his hectic schedule, he makes sure he gets in the gym. Also, it's widely known that he spends at least a million dollars a year on his body. At 39 years old, he can still clearly hang with the younger guys.

Curry's work ethic is on a different level as well. His shooting exercises and ball-handling drills are iconic. LeBron witnessed the effect of those first-hand when Curry led Team USA with back-to-back sizzling performances in the semifinals and gold medal match .

"That little bit of investment in preparing your body and your mind to perform, there's nothing really glamorous about it," Curry, who won his first Olympic gold medal, said. "It's extremely hard work.

"It gets monotonous at times and dealing with all the bumps and bruises of being an athlete, injuries that you have and all that type of stuff, it's a grind."

LeBron and Curry, two consummate stars with already nothing to prove, made each other even better during their Paris run. It should serve as a fair warning to the rest of the NBA.

"I think we motivated each other even more to however much longer we have left playing," Curry added.
