The Oklahoma City Thunder came out like bandits this offseason.

In an unforeseen turn of events, the Thunder made a pair of big-time moves, landing Alex Caruso via a trade and securing the free agency commitment of Isaiah Hartenstein. The arrival of the two veterans fortified OKC’s odds to win it all following last season's groundbreaking success of clinching 57 regular season wins and a second-round postseason finish.

Charles Barkley stands out as one of the biggest fans of how Sam Presti and the rest of the Thunder leadership have maneuvered the franchise's fortunes for the better.

In his recent appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast, the Hall of Famer and prominent media personality gave his flowers to Oklahoma City, commending the team for a successful summer highlighted by the acquisitions of A.C. and Hartenstein.

“OKC had a great summer because Caruso and Hartenstein? Man. They had a great summer. … They got two guys, two role players who are probably like, that's what you want when you have stars. You want guys who gonna do the dirty work, and they went out and got the best two dirty work guys in the NBA,” Barkley remarked .

A.C. and Hartenstein will help OKC win

Adding two of the league's best role players is nothing short of an achievement for a team. In the case of OKC, this couldn't be more sensational. A seasoned contributor with championship DNA, Caruso is slated to bring another dynamic dimension to the Thunder on both ends of the floor, especially on the defensive side. Additionally, Hartenstein will be a major relief in the group's frontcourt depth with his muscle, reliability, and solid game.

Both Caruso and Hartenstein are highly pegged by everyone as the team's missing puzzle pieces in securing a title, and we can only be thrilled for how they'll soon complement and perform to help OKC reach its ultimate goal.
