BREAKING: Commanders Fire Vice President For Derogatory Comments

    By Richie Whitt,

The new Washington Commanders under owner Josh Harris aren't perfect. But they are professional.

Less than 24 hours after a troubling video surfaced of Vice President of Content Rael Enteen making derogatory comments about the team's players and fans and NFL personnel, the Commanders on Thursday fired him. According to ESPN , "the team confirmed the firing via a spokesperson but had no other comment on the matter."

The move comes in stark contrast to the previous ownership of Dan Snyder, who for 24 years swept scandal and dysfunction under the rug until being fined $60 million for sexual harassment in the workplace and eventually selling the team to Harris.

Caught on secretly recorded video by the staff member of self-professed "guerilla journalist" James O'Keefe, Enteen said NFL players are homophobic, fans are alcoholic mouth-breathers and that the league’s social justice initiatives are insincere.

He also called NFL commissioner Roger Goodell a "$50 million puppet" and claimed Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is homophobic and racist.

"I don't think the commissioner of the NFL hates gay people, hates black people," Enteen said. "Jerry Jones, who really runs the NFL, I think he hates gay people, black people."

Enteen, who was on a date with O'Keefe's staff member, was asked about the make-up of the Commanders' roster.

Responded Enteen, “Over 50 percent of our roster is either white religious — ‘and God says f**k the gays’ — another big chunk is very low income African-American that comes from a community that is inherently very homophobic.”

He went on to say that some players in the NFL "are like dumb as all hell.”

Enteen had worked for Commanders since 2020. The club issued a statement about his suspension Wednesday afternoon, and fired him the following day.

In the video he also labeled fans as "high-school-educated alcoholics" and "mouth-breathers," called NFL commissioner Roger Goodell a "$50 million puppet" and said the league's social justice initiatives were "performative" and "faux-prioritized DEI for the sake of good publicity."
