Travis Kelce Sends Blunt Message on Being Called Taylor Swift's 'Arm Candy'

The Kansas City Chiefs kick off the 2024 NFL season with a Thursday Night Football showdown agains the Baltimore Ravens. While fans are thrilled to football is finally back, viewers are also excited to see Taylor Swift return to Arrowhead Stadium to cheer on her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Swift attended 13 Chiefs games last season, during which Kansas City went 10-3, and became back-to-back Super Bowl champions. During the offseason, Kelce reciprocated the support and attended several of Swift's "Eras" concert tours across the world.

With Swift's tour on break until mid-October, the 14-time Grammy winner is expected to be at the season opener on September 5. Hours before kickoff, CBS Mornings shared a new interview with Kelce, during which he was asked about being called Swift's "arm candy."

While some men may feel inferior dating the most famous pop star on the planet, or take offense at the "arm candy" comment, Kelce remained completely unbothered.

“It’s the life I chose, I guess,” the 34-year-old said with a laugh. “I have fun with it."

As for having so many new fans rooting for him, “I hope it’s because they see I’m just a genuinely good person and I love what I do and I love doing it with the people that I’m doing it with,” he said. “I’d rather give everybody happiness and something to cheer about than otherwise.”

The three-time Super Bowl champ's relationship with Swift has not just thrust a spotlight on himself, but the entire Kelce family. However, the All-Pro said his parents, Donna and Ed Kelce, along with his older brother, retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, have handled the attention well.

“Everyone’s loving it. Mama Kelce is having so much fun,” Kelce said. “I think my dad is slowly getting more comfortable with it, and Jason has always been a pro at it."
