The Kansas City Chiefs have won back-to-back Super Bowls and have openly said they want to make history by winning their third straight title this year. They have all the pieces in place, but there are still games to be played between now and then.

Kansas City will take on the Baltimore Ravens in an AFC Championship rematch from a year ago to begin the regular season on Thursday.

There is no doubt that GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium will be rocking as the champs take the field.

NFL Analyst Peter Schrager, who appears on Good Morning Football , has successfully predicted the last five Super Bowl matchups. Call it luck, call it skill, it doesn’t matter. Five straight can’t be argued with.

On Thursday morning’s episode, Schrager made his predictions for this season.

He started in the NFC where he went through all of the teams that have a realistic chance of making it. He laid out his parameters for choosing to have all the pieces.

“The team I’m selecting to represent the conference has all the pieces I love in a Super Bowl contender,” Schrager says. “An ascending quarterback, emerging stars on both sides of the ball and they have just enough playoff experience to say they’ve been there, done that. And they have a coach whose peers have something that he doesn’t.

“The NFC will be represented by Jordan Love, Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers.”

After the panel settled down, he then revealed that they would be facing the Kansas City Chiefs. He laid out the facts about teams vying for a third consecutive championship. Eight times teams have tried, and in all eight instances, they have failed.

He started by saying that this year would not be a three-peat. Then he explained that was because he felt the term was overused and not a dignified enough term for what the Chiefs are about to do.

Schrager then picked Kansas City to “Chiefs-Peat” and become the first-ever team to win three consecutive Super Bowls.

That quest begins Thursday Night when the Chiefs and Ravens start the NFL season at 7:20 p.m. CT.
