Paul Finebaum Snubs College Football Powerhouse From Top Four Ranking

ESPN's Paul Finebaum is known for stirring up controversy and fostering discussions with his takes, whether by criticizing coaches such as USC's Lincoln Riley and Clemson's Dabo Swinney or teams like the Colorado Buffaloes.

Finebaum will probably stir up quite the discussion once again with one of his takes. This week, Finebaum shared his current top four college football teams. Surprisingly, he left out the SEC's new powerhouse, the No. 3 ranked Texas Longhorns and instead chose Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon and Alabama as his top four teams.

"I think the four best teams are Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon and probably Alabama," Finebaum said.

The Longhorns appear to have regained national prominence after finishing 12-2 last season, winning the Big 12, and making their first appearance in the College Football Playoff. Texas started its 2024 campaign strong with a 52-0 victory over Colorado State.

That victory helped propel the Longhorns to No. 3 in this week's AP poll. Texas is also ranked third in ESPN's Football Power Index and holds the third-best chance of winning the College Football Playoff. The Longhorns only trail Georgia and Alabama in both categories.

Longhorn fans hope to make a statement to Finebaum when their team travels to Ann Arbor to take on the defending champion Michigan Wolverines on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024 at noon ET on Fox.
