The “College GameDay” crew are heading to Ann Arbor for Week 2’s grudge match between the No. 10-ranked Michigan Wolverines and No. 3-ranked Texas Longhorns.

With one of the biggest matchups of the college football season, “CGD” pulled out all the stops in landing a guest picker for the event: 28-time Olympic medalist (including 23 gold medals) Michael Phelps.

“I am going to be on ‘College GameDay’ for the very first time,” Phelps said. “I’m super pumped to be with the crew, can’t wait to pick, some games, have some fun, have some laughs, but most importantly, cheer on big blue. Come on y’all, let’s get this big house loud and rowdy.”

The Longhorns, who boat-raced Colorado State 52-0 in their season opener, are currently 7.5-point betting favorites according to BetMGM over the defending national champions, who cruised past Fresno State 30-10 in their opener.

Michigan is just the seventh reigning national champion to be a home underdog in any game the following season after winning a title and the fourth reigning national champion to be at least a seven-point underdog the following season in the last four-and-a-half decades.

It should be noted that Michigan is 5-0 against the spread against ranked teams and 4-0 against the spread when playing top-10 teams over the last two seasons.
