Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese recently spoke about WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes while talking about a few topics on her "Unapologetically Angel" podcast.

Reese shared major respect for the former WNBA champion. She believes Swoopes should be receiving flowers for what she's been able to accomplish, and Reese wanted to make sure that she gave her that credit.

Swoopes has been a hot name in the WNBA landscape as of late since many fans have sent her hateful messages about her coverage of Caitlin Clark on her "Queens of the Court" podcast.

The WNBA icon has been quiet in giving the Fever rookie credit for Indiana's success this season, but she recently said that she's a fan of Clark, and they've actually shared a conversation before.

Given WNBA fan's comments toward Swoopes, Reese wanted to make sure that the league legend receives praise for what she's done.

"I'm really giving her her flowers because she's got her flowers," Reese said. "I think she needs to be reminded that she's that girl. You that girl, you that woman, you've been that, you still that. You forever gonna be that. I know so much going on in social media with everything going on when people have attacked her."

Despite the backlash, Swoopes is a well-respected figure in the WNBA community.

She finished her illustrious career in the league as a four-time WNBA champion, three-time MVP, and six-time All-Star. Swoopes is widely considered one of the best guards to ever play the game after a legendary career with the Houston Comets.

Following her praise for Swoopes, Reese even mentioned that she texted the league icon. She wanted to remind Swoopes that she's a legend and doesn't have to clap back at WNBA fans.

"I texted her yesterday and said 'You know you that," Reese added. "You know you a legend, your resume speaks for itself. You ain't got to speak on nothing. I done see her get out of character on social media... She's a legend and somebody that I've always looked up to... She's ten toes behind what's right."

Reese is such a phony two face person plain and simple She tells media she doesn’t hate Clark they good all bull and next thing she’s cheering when Clark’s team is beating them in the games but Carter Reese and company are trying to hurt her when Carter blind sided body checked Clark Reese was on the sidelines cheering and clapping her ass off She’s a wanna be thug Always Her attitude is awful Not a great roll model She’ll always be second best behind Clark because she’s a one trick pony getting her own missed shots to boost her rebound stats while Clark at a much tougher position at guard is an all around high level and talented super star in the making As I’ve said since the beginning of the season she’ll own just about every rookie record and many W records by seasons end and will own more records every year
