The Kansas City Chiefs offense got off to a hot start after scoring a touchdown on their first drive of the season. Rookie receiver Xavier Worthy torched the Baltimore Ravens defense to score a 21-yard rushing touchdown on an impressive reverse play.

Shortly after Worthy scored his first career touchdown in the NFL, quarterback Patrick Mahomes pulled off a classy decision that has since gone viral.

In the video that has accumulated over 125,000 views, 2,500 likes, and nearly 200 re-posts, you can see Mahomes go out of his way to get the ball Worthy scored with.

The Chiefs quarterback then made sure to give the ball to the rookie wide receiver to keep it for himself . It didn't appear to be on Worthy's mind at all but Mahomes was certainly looking out for his teammate.

That's the type of ball to keep in the trophy shelf. Not everyone has the opportunity to play in the NFL or even score in the league. So, it's a cool act from Mahomes to make sure Worthy gets to keep that ball.

The touchdown tied the game up 7-7 in the first quarter. It was an impressive drive that featured the Chiefs entire offense as nearly everyone touched the ball at some point. Overall, Kansas City has looked phenomenal on Thursday Night Football.

Worthy was selected by the Chiefs with the 28th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. Kansas City traded up with the Buffalo Bills to acquire the rookie speedster. Worthy turned heads during his time playing for the Texas Longhorns and sparked intrigue after recording a record breaking 4.21 second 40-time at the NFL Combine.

His speed makes him a potential difference-maker for Mahomes and the Chiefs. He's a unique weapon for Andy Reid, who is regarded as one of, if not, the best play caller in the league today.

Worthy played three seasons for the Longhorns and proved to be a dominant force despite his 6-1, 160 pound frame. The now 21-year-old wide receiver finished his collegiate career with 197 receptions, 2,755 receiving yards, and 26 touchdowns.
