The New York Jets will kick off their season against the San Francisco 49ers in just a few days on Monday Night Football.

For defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw, not only will Week 1 be a chance for him to help the Jets get the season started on the right foot, but it will also be a chance for Kinlaw to show off his new talents.

"I feel free," said Kinlaw. "The way they coach it over here, it's amazing. You don't really have to worry about too much and it's awesome."

During camp, Kinlaw told reporters that he felt his health caught up with his work ethic for the first time in his career. According to Kinlaw, he has put on 30 pounds of muscle in the offseason.

A first-round pick by San Francisco in 2020, Kinlaw signed a one-year, $7.25 million contract with New York in March after spending his entire career with the 49ers. While Kinlaw will be facing off against his former team, he claims that he has nothing to prove against San Francisco, or to anybody else.

"It's all going to be for myself," Kinlaw said. "I don't have anything to prove to anybody. I'm just going to be looking to show what I said, that the health is caught up to the work ethic. I've been able to really sharpen my tools this camp more than any camp that I've had."
