Deion Sanders Gives Rare Gift to Colorado Player Before Nebraska Game

Just because Colorado has a massive meeting with the Nebraska Cornhuskers this weekend doesn't mean Deion Sanders isn't thinking about his players off the field.

In a Well Off Media video, the Colorado Buffaloes head coach can be seen surprising long snapper Kameron Hawkins with a pair of his signature Nike Air DT Max 96 cleats. The video starts with Sanders asking if there was anything special that he possibly wanted for his birthday. A question that led to Hawkins expressing that just being there with everyone was enough.

An answer that Sanders didn't think was enough.

"Give me something that you want," Sanders told Hawkins. "Is there anything tangible? I don't know if this is a NCAA violation but I'd get it for you."

Hawkins then pointed out the cleats on someone else in the group, expressing that it would be "nice" to get a pair of them.

A wish that came true, as Hawkins had a pair of the cleats sitting in his locker, which he later called "bad to the bone."

The birthday gift serves as a nice distraction for Sanders and the team, as they are set to play in a game that attracted 8.73 million viewers last season.

The gift also happens to be a bit rare, as Sanders revealed during the Big 12 media days that not everyone just gets them.

"I don't think we used it as a recruiting tool, this year we will," Sanders told On3's Phillip Dukes at Big 12 Media Days about the shoes. "You know why? Because the guys that ball gonna get em. I'm not putting everybody out there I'm just letting you know...Tom, Dick, Larry, Harry you ain't getting them shoes. Show me what you got and then I can count on you -- I got you. We got a whole locker room full of them. I got you though but if you don't ball I can't do that."

Hawkins will have a chance to sport them for the first time against Colorado's biggest rival this weekend.

The Buffs were able to blow out the Cornhuskers in 2023 36-14, but Nebraska reloaded at the quarterback and receivers position and are expected to push Colorado to the brink this time around. Both teams won their Week 1 one game with Colorado winning a close one against North Dakota State, and Nebraska blowing out UTEP.

According to ESPN, Nebraska is a 6.5-point favorite and has a 60.3% chance of beating the Buffs.

Why so much hate? Coach didn't post it. He's always helping people.

Don't kid yourself. Deion isn't thinking about anyone other than himself or his over hyped sons. He has another agenda.
