Angel Reese is Trending After Embarrassing Moment vs. Fellow WNBA Rookie

Late Friday night, Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky played host to Rickea Jackson and the Los Angeles Sparks. The Sky entered the game on a seven-game losing streak, and a win would help them get back on track as they race for the final spot in the WNBA playoffs.

Since Sparks rookie Cameron Brink went down with an ACL tear, Jackson, also a rookie, has taken on a bigger role. Many fans have argued that she has become better than Reese, but the spotlight still shines on the former LSU Tigers star.

During the game, Jackson may have proved some of those fans right with a highlight against Reese.

With just over seven minutes left in the second quarter, Jackson went one-on-one with Reese at the top of the three-point line, putting a couple of dribble moves on her defender before dashing to the hoop for a layup over the Sky rookie.

After playing college ball with the Tennessee Volunteers for two seasons, Jackson was selected with the No. 4 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft. Reese was taken three spots behind Jackson at No. 7.

In 33 games this season prior to the Sky matchup, Jackson is averaging 12.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists. Unfortunately, the Sparks find themselves at the bottom of the standings with a 7-26 record.

Despite the poor record, Los Angeles has not been eliminated from the postseason just yet. But if they want to make the playoffs, they will likely have to win the remainder of their games, which seems very unlikely.
