Jordan Love's Girlfriend's Heartbreaking Post Before His Injury

Green Bay Packers star quarterback Jordan Love went down with an apparent leg injury within the final seconds of their Week 1 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

With the Packers down 34-29 and no timeouts left, Love delivered a strike to Jayden Reed for a 33-yard gain. The completion got them to around midfield, but the next play is where things went wrong. With the pocket around him collapsing, Love flipped it to running back Josh Jacobs, but it was immediately clear after the play that something was wrong with Love.

He was down on the ground after the hit in evident pain and pointing at his leg. He ended up being helped off of the field and appeared to have a limp.

Fans across the league expressed worry, and his now-Fiancée Ronika Stone's pregame post expressing her excitement for the season makes the 25-year-old star's injury that much more heartbreaking. "Happy game day," Stone wrote prior to the game with a picture of Love in the background.

A moment that the two certainly were both thrilled about heading into Friday, as the couple have been together for four years. So, Stone has been along for the ride of Love's entire rollercoaster career, which saw him go from presumed bust to signing a contract to tie him for being the highest-paid player in the NFL.

In July, Love inked a four-year, $220 million contract extension with the Packers, which also featured a record-setting $75 million signing bonus, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Love's contract extension wasn't the only big move made this offseason, as he also proposed to Stone in June after her volleyball season with the San Diego Mojo of the Pro Volleyball Federation. He popped the question while the two were on a trip in Italy, but he was certainly nervous in doing so.

When asked by NBC's Maria Taylor ahead of the season opener, which was more nerve-racking, playing at Lambeau Field or proposing to Stone, Love revealed it was the proposal.

"I’d say proposing to her," Love said . "That was intense. Now, I’m ready for the season. I’m ready."

Fans around the NFL were equally excited to see Love build off of his fantastic first year as the full-time starter in 2023, but now that excitement may be put on hold as we wait to see the severity of his injury.

As for how the game ended, the Packers put in Malik Willis for the final two plays but lost after he slipped on the final play and was sacked.
