When the Buffalo Bills extended right tackle Spencer Brown to the tune of a four-year contract, they locked up a key part of their offensive line through the 2028 season.

It's the kind of investment that well-run teams make - especially with his contract details having not been fully announced.

Brown was ranked as the 11th-best tackle in the game last year while helping spearhead the organization's shift to becoming more of a running team last year. Buffalo won their fourth-straight division title thanks to that change.

His extension is also one of the few players to get one from the Bills despite the organization adjusting their roster by getting rid of some of their older players like Stefon Diggs, Micah Hyde, and Jordan Poyer.

Brown still has plenty to prove as he tries to become one of the best players in the game at his position, but for the Bills to reinvest in the offensive line is an important step for the franchise.

If Buffalo wants to compete with the top teams in the AFC like the Kansas City Chiefs, they know they need to have their trenches stronger at each point.

It's why Brown's extension is so important and coming at the perfect time.
