Gophers announce 2024-25 non-conference women's basketball schedule

The Minnesota Golden Gophers announced their non-conference schedule on Friday with 12 games to open the 2024-25 season.

The Gophers will open the season against Central Connecticut State on Nov. 4 at Williams Arena and then host the Vermont Catamounts, who finished last season with a 25-12 record and advanced to the WNIT semifinals.

Minnesota will have a third straight home game to open the year against UMass Lowell on Nov. 12 before their first game away from home at the Briann January Classic against 2024 Elite 8 program Oregon State in Tempe, Arizona.

The Gophers will also play SMU at the same event on Nov. 17 before returning home to host Eastern Illinois on Nov. 20 and Montana on Nov. 24.

The Gophers' second neutral court event will take place at the Big Easy Classic in New Orleans. Minnesota will face Houston on Nov. 29 and play Louisiana on Nov. 30 at the John A. Alario Center.

The non-conference schedule wraps up with three more home games against North Florida on Dec. 3, Jackson State on Dec. 11 and an opponent to be announced on Dec. 20.

The Gophers finished with a 20-16 record in their first year under head coach Dawn Plitzuweit.
