Jim Harbaugh Was the Talk of College Football on Saturday

The No. 3 Texas Longhorns are currently in Ann Arbor, Michigan competing against the No. 10 Michigan Wolverines.

Despite winning the 2023 national title and playing in the "Big House" where Michigan has won 23 straight games, Texas entered the primetime matchup as the favorite.

The Longhorns showed why they were favored by nearly a touchdown when they took over Michigan's stadium and secured a commanding 31-6 lead over the Wolverines in the third quarter.

Texas started the game with a 24-3 lead in the first half and it continued to get out of hand for the Wolverines in the second half.

Amid the deficit for the Wolverines, their former head coach Jim Harbaugh, who led Michigan to a 15-0 record and a national championship in 2023, was trending on social media.

Fans gave credit to what Harbaugh was able to accomplish since the Wolverines were getting shut down at home.

"Looks like Jim Harbaugh took any talent Michigan had with him." commented one fan.

"Jim Harbaugh might actually be the first man to accept the “How many years of irrelevance would you trade for one national championship” hypothetical," said one fan.

"I see Michigan has returned to pre Jim Harbaugh era football," said another fan.

"I miss 144 and Jim Harbaugh," mentioned one fan.

"Jim Harbaugh was great." said one fan.

"Looks like Jim Harbaugh saw what was on the horizon," said another fan.

Harbaugh was the head coach for the Wolverines from 2015-23. Under Harbaugh, Michigan was one of the most dominant teams in college football.

His best season came in 2023 with an undefeated record and national title, but Michigan was also able to secure a 12-2 record in 2021 and a 13-1 record in 2022.

Harbaugh ultimately left the program after accepting a head coaching gig with the Los Angeles Chargers in the NFL.

He was part of a sign-stealing scandal that involved a few members of his coaching staff, and analyst Connor Stalions. After the cheating scandal that was supposedly headed by Stalions, Harbaugh was suspended for another violation.

The longtime head coach is suspended for one year with a four-year show-cause penalty for NCAA recruiting violations.

It's now the Sherrone Moore show in Ann Arbor.

Moore was able to lead the Wolverines to a Week 1 victory in his first game as the head coach of the Wolverines.

They trumped Fresno State 30-10 at home, but a matchup against Quinn Ewers and the Longhorns proved to be too much to handle.

While Michigan lost a plethora of talented players from their 2023 national title roster, fans seem to believe Jim Harbaugh is the biggest missing piece in Ann Arbor.
