Texas stormed into the Big House and beat Michigan 31-12 on Saturday, earning a decisive win that put the rest of the country on notice—this team isn't going anywhere.

The following are the team's three biggest standouts from a complete Saturday afternoon effort.

    1. Quarterback Quinn Ewers

On the road against a fearsome Michigan defense, Texas needed a top-tier performance from quarterback Quinn Ewers, and boy, did he deliver. Ewers was masterful against the Michigan blitz, showcasing elite pocket awareness, poise under pressure, and pristine timing and anticipation on his downfield throws.

Ewers completed 24 of 36 passes for 246 yards and three touchdowns, and he's emerging as one of the leaders for the Heisman race this fall.

    2. Tight End Gunnar Helm

Gunnar Helm wasn't the top name in most previews for the game on Saturday, but the senior tight end had his finest game in a Longhorns uniform. Helm finished with seven catches for 98 yards and a touchdown, and he was also integral to the team's blocking scheme in the run game. Keep an eye on him for NFL Draft considerations next year.

    3. Safety Andrew Mukuba

Clemson transfer Andrew Mukuba made his presence felt on Saturday, finishing with four tackles, one pass defense, and an interception. He flew all over the field, making huge plays in both run defense and pass coverage. Texas lacked a playmaking presence on the back end like Mukuba last year, and he looks like a star in the making for this dominant Longhorns team.

Texas faces UTSA and Louisiana-Monroe in the coming weeks to wrap up non-conference play before beginning SEC competition. Expect Ewers, Helm, and Mukuba to continue to be standout presences for the Longhorns.
