In an essential non-conference game on Saturday, Stanford has taken a 14-7 halftime lead over Cal Poly. The Cardinal hopes to avoid an 0-2 start after dropping last week's game at home to TCU.

While Ashton Daniels has secured the starting quarterback job for Stanford, Justin Lamson still has a role to play in the Troy Taylor offense. On Saturday, Lamson scored a touchdown from two yards out.

Just before the touchdown run, Ashton Daniels hit tight end Sam Roush for a big 21-yard gain to get the Cardinal down the goal line. Daniels has had a much better outing after an uneven game in Week 1, completing 13 of 15 passes for 188 yards and a touchdown.

Stay tuned for more updates on the game on Saturday as Stanford battles with Cal Poly.
