Buffaloes Star Ejected During Colorado vs. Nebraska

Things are not going the way Deion Sanders would have hoped for his Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday night against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Colorado, which has failed to get anything going offensively thanks in large part to five first-half sacks on Shedeur Sanders, found itself trailing 21-0 just before the end of the second quarter.

On a 2nd down play from the Cornhuskers' 36-yard line, Colorado linebacker Trevor Woods was flagged for targeting on a big hit to Nebraska wide receiver Isaiah Neyor.

Neyor managed to hold on to the ball despite the tough blow, resulting in a 16-yard gain.

But for Woods, Colorado's starting linebacker who recorded 56 tackles a season ago, it served as the final play of his night.

Nebraska would go on to score on the drive after freshman sensation quarterback Dylan Raiola found running back Rahmir Johnson for a spectacular 18-yard touchdown reception.

"A giant hit. Two flags come in...That could cost him the rest of his game," NBC commentator Paul Burmeister said immediately after the play.

"That's a pretty automatic targeting call," he added.

Nebraska went to the locker rooms leading Colorado with a score of 28-0.
