Utes fans held their breath on Saturday as Cameron Rising left the game against Baylor with a finger injury, but it sounds like the star quarterback will be alright moving forward. According to 247Sports Reporter Matt Zenitz, head coach Kyle Whittingham said Rising's injury isn't that serious, and he could be back as soon as next week.

Rising finished with a modest stat line, completing eight of 14 passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns before leaving the game. Freshman Isaac Wilson relieved the injured Rising and completed just four of nine passes for 30 yards.

Utah held on for the 23-12 win after an explosive 17-0 start in the first quarter, relying on its defense and run game to secure the victory. Running back Micah Bernard finished with 19 carries for 118 yards at an impressive 6.2 YPC clip.

If Rising's status is questionable next week, the team could survive against Utah State without the services of its star passer. The top priority must be to get Rising healthy for conference play in the Big 12, which continues on September 21 with a critical road game against Oklahoma State.
