Real Reason for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Weekend Trip After Chiefs Win

Travis Kelce and his pop star girlfriend Taylor Swift surprised a lot of fans when they were spotted in New York City just a day after the Kansas City Chiefs star's game against the Baltimore Ravens. Apparently, however, there is a good reason for their trip.

Kelce and the Chiefs beat the Ravens on Thursday, September 5, with Swift in attendance to cheer and support her partner. Then on Friday, the couple was spotted having dinner at a popular Brooklyn pizza place called Lucali.

Fans couldn't help but wonder why Kelce and Swift are in New York City, especially with the NFL season just getting started and the Chiefs focusing on their bid to win their third straight title.

According to a report by Vogue, though, Kelce and Swift attended a wedding in New York. Model and singer Karen Elson officially tied the knot with Electric Lady Studios owner Lee Foster on Saturday, September 7.

"The singer and newly-mustachioed beau Travis Kelce jetted over from Kansas City to New York to attend model Karen Elson’s wedding to Electric Lady Studios owner Lee Foster (where Elson donned a custom Valentino by Alessandro Michele). For the star-studded occasion, Swift opted for a Zimmermann dress that many would likely hesitate to wear to someone else’s wedding.," the Vogue report stated.

Electric Lady Studios has been labeled by several news outlets as Taylor Swift's favorite recording spot in Manhattan, so it's no surprise that she's been invited to the wedding. Not to mention that Elson is also an established folk and country music artist.

It's unclear when Travis Kelce will be back to Kansas City to prepare for their Week 2 game at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. It also remains to be seen if Taylor Swift will be with him to watch their next game at Arrowhead Stadium.
