The Los Angeles Lakers are less than one month away from NBA training camp. With their standard roster mostly in place, any additions Los Angeles makes between now and camp will likely be Exhibit-10 deals.

Exhibit-10 contracts allow a player to join an NBA team for training camp with the possibility of being converted to a standard deal or two-way contract. Players on Exhibit-10 deals who do not receive contract offers after camp will often accept a G League roster spot.

In a report from Nikola Miloradovic of Eurohoops , it was revealed that seven-year NBA veteran Cedi Osman rejected a training camp offer from the Lakers, instead opting to sign with Panathinaikos in Greece.

“He also received interest from the Los Angeles Lakers, which invited him for a training camp; however, due to the lack of guarantees about making it to the season roster, he decided to refuse and come back to Europe,” Miloradovic wrote on Osman.

Osman played with Lakers star LeBron James for one season on the Cleveland Cavaliers (2017-18). Cleveland went to the NBA Finals that season, and Osman averaged 3.9 points in 61 regular season appearances.

Osman spent seven seasons in the NBA, six of which came in Cleveland. Playing for the San Antonio Spurs last season, Osman appeared in 72 games, where he averaged 6.8 points in 17.6 minutes per contest.

Opting for a contract in Greece over a training camp opportunity with the Lakers, Osman reportedly did not want to deal with the uncertainty of receiving a roster spot.
