Klay Thompson Enjoys US Open with WNBA Star

Klay Thompson is having a newsworthy summer. Following the departure from the Golden State Warriors, the four-time NBA champion joined the Dallas Mavericks on a sign-and-trade deal. Since July, Thompson has hopped around the globe, concluding a trip to Cameroon. Thompson recently attended the US Open last Friday, with New WNBA star Sabrina Ionesco also in attendance.

The New York Knicks aren't the only basketball players with tennis interests. Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges have shown love to Francis Tiafoe and vice versa. However, the 3-point shooting extraordinaire Ionescu took the time out of her busy schedule with the New York Liberty to enjoy the performances of elite athletes outside of her sport.

Sabrina attended with her husband but took a photo with Thompson during a match between Tiafoe and  Taylor Fritz. Thompson posted the exchange on his Instagram, and Ionescu reposted it on her profile.

Thompson's Splash Brother Stephen Curry competed against Ionescu during the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend. Ionescu is currently fourth in 3-point shots made, with 94.

Coincidentally, Thompson also ranked fourth in converted 3-point shots at 268. Despite the five-time NBA All-Star having a "down" year relative to his career, Thompson still produced an elite number of 3-point shots.

Based on his career and recent history, the Dallas Mavericks theoretically fixed their 3-point shooting problem, as Thompson is already the best shooter on the team.
