Updated ESPN FPI College Football Rankings Leave Fans Baffled

The ESPN Football Power Index has updated its computer-generated college football rankings after an eventful Week 2.

The top nine is generally fair. Personally speaking, I'd have Georgia at No. 1, but Texas taking over the top spot after dominating Michigan is understandable. Also, Tennessee is very deserving of being in the top five. Quarterback Nico Iamaleava looks like the real deal.

Alabama at No. 3, Penn State at No. 7, Oregon at No. 13, and Kansas State at No. 18 are questionable. All three are 2-0 but looked lackluster in their Week 2 games.

There are also teams listed that sit at 1-1, but their results just make you scratch your head. Notre Dame at No. 10, Clemson at No. 14, Arkansas at No. 23, and Auburn at No. 25 make absolutely no sense.

Two of those teams fell to unranked opponents at home in their second game: Notre Dame lost 16-14 to Northern Illinois, and Auburn lost 21-14 to California.

Arkansas is coming off a potential upset bid over No. 16 Oklahoma State, but to be real, it didn't win and doesn't deserve a spot in the top 25. 39-31 was the final in that one.

Clemson should not be hanging around after its Week 1 blowout to Georgia; A 34-3 loss is just craziness.
