WNBA Star A'ja Wilson Added to Aces' Injury Report Before Game vs. Liberty

A'ja Wilson has been absolutely dominant throughout the 2024 WNBA season. The Las Vegas Aces' center is the frontrunner for this year's league MVP award, averaging 27.3 points, 11.9 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game for her defending-champion squad.

The Aces will be without their superstar player for Sunday afternoon's highly-anticipated matchup against the New York Liberty.

Just hours before the 4 p.m. ET tipoff in Brooklyn, Wilson was added to the Aces' injury report and ruled out with a lower right leg injury.

Las Vegas head coach Becky Hammon is expected to provide further details regarding Wilson's injury closer to tipoff, per ESPN WNBA insider Alexa Philippou.

Wilson tweaked her right leg during the Aces' win over the Connecticut Sun on Friday, September 6. The 28-year-old All-Star was spotted wearing a walking boot on her right foot on Sunday.

This is the first game Wilson has missed all season, and the first regular-season game she's missed in three years. The Aces will need to look elsewhere to replace her MVP-caliber production on Sunday afternoon.

The Aces clinched a playoff berth with a win over the Atlanta Dream on August 30. The defending WNBA champions currently hold the No. 4 overall seed in the league.

Sunday's game against the Liberty will tipoff at 4 p.m. ET.
