Nebraska Defender Reveals Verbal Exchange With Travis Hunter in Colorado Game

The Colorado Buffaloes' high-flying offense ran into a brick wall against the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday night.

After putting up 504 yards of total offense and four touchdowns against North Dakota State in Week 1, superstars Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter couldn't break through in Lincoln. Nebraska held Colorado to one touchdown and 260 yards of offense in a 28-10 win in Week 2.

Hunter, a two-way star at both wide receiver and cornerback, battled with Nebraska cornerback Tommi Hill, who revealed a verbal exchange between the two during the game.

"I told him, 'It's going to be a rough game for you,'" Hill said .

Hill said that Hunter responded by calling him "trash."

"I got in his head in the first and second quarter," Hill continued. "So third quarter, he wasn't talking to me at all."

Hill's day was highlighted by a pick-six off Sanders with Colorado backed up to its own end zone. That play seems to overshadow Hunter's impact in Hill's mind, though Hunter finished with a game-high 10 catches for 110 yards, a stellar performance for anyone.

That's not to take anything away from Nebraska's performance on defense. The Cornhuskers, led by second-year head coach Matt Rhule, were in the backfield all day. The team finished with six sacks and 10 tackles for loss in a signature win.

Colorado (1-1) will be back in action on Saturday against in-state rival Colorado State while Nebraska (2-0) takes on Northern Iowa.

This article’s author, J.C. Shelton, calls Sanders a “superstar”???!!!!Obviously the term superstar has lost much of its luster!!!!!

Hunters loyalty to deon is a mistake. Hunter could easily be starting for a top 10 team like Georgia, Texas , Alabama, Ohio state etc and be playing in playoffs or national championship games. Instead he's gonna be laughed at week after week and become frustrated because deon is a terrible coach and Colorado won't even make a low level bowl game. You seen his frustration with shitdooer Saturday night when he didn't get the ball in the end zone. Hunter should shut it down and prepare for the 2025 draft before all the playing time on offense and defense gets him hurt.
