Tyreek Hill Teammate Reveals He Was Also Arrested After Dolphins Win Over Jaguars

The Miami Dolphins secured a 20-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was a tight contest throughout but Miami pulled out the win to start the season with a 1-0 record.

But the franchise faced some drama Sunday morning after Tyreek Hill was arrested by Miami-Dade police. He was allegedly pulled over for reckless driving but was then handcuffed while being pinned down to the ground.

Hill was eventually released and played in Sunday's contest to help the Dolphins beat the Jaguars. The 30-year-old wide receiver finished the day with seven receptions for 130 yards and a touchdown.

However, the story took a strange turn when veteran pass rusher and teammate, Calais Campbell, revealed that he too was arrested by police. Campbell shared his side of the story during a postgame interview with Cameron Wolfe of The NFL Network.

"For him to put handcuffs on me, I felt some type of way. But that just goes to show how resilient we are. We didn't let that stop us."

Campbell reveals that he was attempting to help Hill during the incident. But for whatever reason, Miami-Dade police arrested Campbell as well. It's not entirely clear what led to the multiple arrests on Sunday morning. However, Director Stephanie V. Daniels has already announced that one officer involved was placed on administrative leave.

The 38-year-old defensive lineman had himself a solid day as well. Campbell finished with three total tackles and brought Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence down for a sack. The arrests seemingly didn't slow down Hill or Campbell on the field.

Hill already admitted that he has "no idea" why he was arrested by police while on his way to Hard Rock Stadium. The Dolphins' star did send a message though with a touchdown celebration after scoring from 80 yards out.

Teammate Jaylen Waddle pretended to be a police officer while he and Hill acted out the arrest. You can see them in the clip below while Dolphins fans celebrate the touchdown.

The Dolphins move on to Week 2 where they'll take on the Buffalo Bills on Thursday, September 12. With the offense looking stellar against the Jaguars, Miami aims to remain atop the league with a big win over the Bills.

As for the arrests, the Miami-Dade Police Department will likely provide more details in the coming days. Between the details of the incident and available body camera footage, there is plenty for the police department to cypher through.
