Both Bills, Stefon Diggs Appear to Be Better Off After Week 1 Wins

Is there ever such a thing as a win-win trade for a player and a team?

The Buffalo Bills and All-Pro wideout Stefon Diggs might be answering that question early in 2024. Both the Bills and their former wideout won Sunday to open their new seasons showing that each side could be seen as "winning" their side of the trade.

Buffalo opened up their season with a 34-28 victory over the Arizona Cardinals thanks to four total touchdowns by Josh Allen and over 270 yards from the quarterback.

Diggs, on the other hand, recorded six catches for 33 yards, and two touchdown strikes in Houston's 29-27 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

The Bills traded away Diggs during the 2024 offseason for a 2025 second-round pick to the Texans in a trade that the receiver later acknowledged was more about the two sides needing to end their relationship over any one specific thing.

"I don’t talk bad about my old girlfriend to make my new girlfriend feel good," Diggs said last week. "I’m just happy to be where I am.”

Buffalo passed the first test without Diggs this season thanks to Allen's skill set. It'll be a few years to determine how far the Bills still have to go to get the most out of the post-Diggs era, but the two sides seem happy at their divorce.
