Everyone’s Saying The Same Thing About Tom Brady’s Broadcasting Debut

Even an NFL legend like Tom Brady isn't immune to some first-day jitters.

Brady made his debut as an NFL analyst on September 8, entering the booth for Fox's broadcast of the game between the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns. It was a long-anticipated moment for Brady, who signed a 10-year, $375-million contract with Fox Sports in 2022 but delayed his start as an analyst when he came out of retirement for a final season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brady hit another setback in his career as an analyst when he purchased a minority share in the Las Vegas Raiders, leading to restrictions on exactly how much he can report on the franchise.

After all the anticipation, Brady's first day drew some critical reactions from fans. Many noted that he sounded nervous in the booth and had difficulty finding the right cadence for his words.

"I think Tom Brady will turn into a really good announcer, but a couple of minutes into this game he sounds nervous and unsure of when & how he fits in," a fan wrote on X.

"I’m having a hard time not wincing when Brady speaks. He is NERVOUS," wrote another.

Some of the criticism was more direct.

"Tom Brady is absolutely atrocious in the booth," one wrote on X.

"I don't want to overreact to week 1 but Tom Brady is the worst announcer in the NFL," one person wrote.

Others criticized Fox for handing Brady such a big contract before he had any experience as an analyst.

"Maybe someone should have listened to Tom Brady actually say words before dropping $300 million on him," one fan shared in a post on X.
