The Buffalo Bills have managed a great come-from-behind 34-28 win over the Arizona Cardinals to open their season in positive fashion at Highmark Stadium.

While there were growing pains in the first half , as the Cardinals led 17-10 at halftime, the Bills' offense, led by new offensive coordinator Joe Brady and Josh Allen, clicked into gear in the second half.

Buffalo outscored the Cardinals 24-11, with the Bills' receiver-by-committee approach showing promising signs.

Rookie Keon Coleman (4 catches, 51 yards), Khalil Shakir (3 catches, 42 yards, 1 TD), Mack Hollins (2 rcatches, 25 yards, 1 TD), Dawson Knox (1 catch, 23 yards), and Marquez Valdes-Scantling (1 catch, 19 yards) all played their part.

So, too, did the run game with Pro Bowler James Cook (19 attempts, 71 yards) and Ray Davis (3 attempts, 13 yards), while Allen was Allen, totaling 40 rushing yards and two touchdowns from eight carries.

Given that it was the first week of the season, and the Bills offense had undergone a serious transformation from last season, naturally, there were going to be growing pains.

Buffalo was poor on third down (3/9), but still managed to put up 352 total yards of offense and averaged a cool 6.1 yards per play.

Of course, things will get better, and Brady didn't exactly have the best opportunity to scout the Cardinals' defense due to hardly any starters playing in preseason, but to score 34 points in Week 1 is a considerable achievement...even if it took a half to get going.

Overall, Buffalo will be happy to come away with the win, and Sean McDermott and Brady know there's plenty to clean up ... but its much better when you manage to get the win.
