The Chicago Sky are now 1-0 in the post-Angel Reese portion of the 2024 WNBA season after a 92-77 win over the Dallas Wings on Sunday, September 8.

Less than 24 hours before tipoff, Reese took to social media to announce that she had suffered a season-ending injury. The former LSU Tigers star suffered her wrist injury in the Sky's previous game against the Los Angeles Sparks. Although it hasn't been confirmed, fans believe they have identified exactly when she suffered the injury.

During the Sky's win over the Wings, Reese was notably very active and engaging with her team throughout the game. She even came onto the court during warmups to take a few shots.

Following Chicago's game, Reese quoted a video on X highlighting her energy on the sidelines. She also left a subtle warning to fans.

"be prepared to be sick of meeeee," Reese wrote with crying emojis.

Chicago is in the midst of a race for the final spot in the WNBA playoffs. With the Indiana Fever defeating the Atlanta Dream on Sunday, the Sky have gained sole possession of the eighth seed. However, it may be difficult to keep it with their only All-Star out.

Reese finished the season playing 34 games and averaging 13.6 points and a league-leading 13.1 rebounds. She broke multiple WNBA records during her first year, including the most consecutive double-doubles and single-season rebounds.

In her season-ending announcement post, Reese revealed that she should be good to go for the inaugural Unrivaled League season starting in January. She certainly will have plenty of time to heal up.
