Fans All Saying The Same Thing About Browns After Deshaun Watson's Ugly Start

Deshaun Watson got off to a rough start with the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, leading fans to point out the "what-could-have-been" question for the franchise.

Watson struggled to get the Browns going on offense against an aggressive Cowboys defense in the team's 33-17 loss. He completed 24-of-45 passes for 169 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions, adding another 39 yards rushing.

Watson has struggled since coming to the Browns in a 2022 trade and signing a new five-year, $230-million contract. The quarterback was suspended for the first six games that season and finished with a career-low passer rating. Watson saw his 2023 season cut short by a shoulder injury, with veteran Joe Flacco coming in to lead the team to the playoffs.

After his 2024 season got off to a troubled start, many fans recalled what could have been if the Browns stuck with former No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield.

Mayfield bounced around the league after being traded by the Browns, landing as the starter for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and leading them to a division title in 2023. Mayfield threw for 289 yards with four touchdowns in the team's season-opening win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
