Rams Announce Puka Nacua Injury Update During ‘Sunday Night Football’

The Los Angeles Rams suffered a critical setback in Sunday night's game against the Detroit Lions when wide receiver Puka Nacua had to be carted off the field.

The 23-year-old was initially hurt during a second-quarter play, limping off the field and heading into the blue medical tent on the sidelines. He was able to return just before halftime but left again, this time needing to be carted off the field by medical personnel.

The Rams announced early in the third quarter that Nacua had been ruled out for the game. Nacua had just one reception for 7 yards at the time he was forced out of the game, with the Rams struggling to move the ball against an aggressive Lions defense.

The severity of Nacua's injury was not yet clear, with the team expected to provide a more in-depth update after the game.

Nacua had a breakout season in 2023, making 105 receptions for 1,486 yards with six touchdowns.
