The Los Angeles Rams and Detroit Lions faced off in a massive NFC showdown on Sunday Night Football. The game had plenty of headlines, including Matthew Stafford's return to Detroit and the Lions' first game after a heartbreaking NFC title game loss.

However, it was Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp that stole the show. The talented wide receiver has struggled with injuries over the past two years. In 2022 and 2023, Kupp played just 21 games combined after being a reliable option for the Rams.

In both of the past two seasons, Kupp failed to cross the 1,000-yard threshold.

Week 1 of the 2024 campaign was different. Kupp was targeted a whopping 21 times and caught 14 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown.

The response from fans? Cooper Kupp is back.

"Cooper Kupp is all the way back," one fan wrote . Another said , "Cooper Kupp is back." One other fan said, "Cooper Kupp still that guy."

Fantasy football fans also were happy for Kupp returning to his top-tier form.

" Cooper Kupp is back to fantasy god status; what a wonderful sight."

NFL analysts also joined in on the Kupp hype. Peter Schrager had just a few words to explain his performance.

    "Cooper Kupp, you’re ridiculous."

Kupp had plenty of big catches, including a must-see toe drag that reminded everybody of his old days.

In 2021, Kupp had 145 catches with 1,947 yards and 16 scores. Skip Bayless also had a reaction to that cath by Kupp.

"What an incredible catch and toe-drag by Cooper Kupp, who remains inexplicably uncoverable with 4.6 40 speed," Bayless wrote on X .

Kupp also scored the go-ahead touchdown with less than five minutes left in the game to give LA a 20-17 lead.

ESPN Fantasy Sports also posted a photo with Kupp and the caption read , "Cooper Kupp is so back."

Yahoo analyst Matt Harmon also had a perfect GIF to represent the return of Kupp.

Kupp missed the first four games of 2023 due to a hamstring injury, and the emergence of Puka Nacua bit into Kupp's workload.

In Week 1, Nacua left the game early with a knee injury , which opened the way for more targets for Kupp, and the veteran answered the call.

Unfortunately for the Rams, the Lions won 26-20 on a David Montgomery touchdown in overtime.

Still, the talk of the game was the performance by Kupp.
