Postgame Handshake Between Jared Goff, Matthew Stafford Is Going Viral

The Los Angeles Rams traveled to Motor City to take on the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football. Following the Lions' 26-20 overtime victory over the Rams, cameras caught a postgame meeting between Detroit quarterback Jared Goff and L.A. signal caller Matthew Stafford.

Fans seemed to love the interaction between the two, raving about their sportsmanship.

The video posted by the NFL received over 70k views and counting just over 30 minutes after its release on social media.

Many fans commented about the trade that put Goff in a Lions uniform and Stafford in L.A. The two were traded for each other after the 2020 season.

Detroit sent Stafford to Hollywood for Goff, a 2021 third-round pick and first-round picks in 2022 and 2023.

"A Trade that worked out for both sides," said one fan. "Love to see this!"

    "Respect," a commenter added.

"SPORTSMANSHIP," a social media user furthered.

"Congratulations Goff," a fourth supporter shared.

Another poster noted, "Game recognizing game."

"A trade for a Super Bowl Ring paid off," said another fan.

Since Goff arrived in Detroit, he has helped bring a winning atmosphere to a franchise that's dealt with mediocrity for much of the 21st century.

The former No. 1 overall pick helped lead the Lions to the 2023 NFC Championship game. While the Lions fell to the San Francisco 49ers in a close battle, the tide has certainly changed in Detroit.

He's now been with the Lions for three seasons after being drafted in 2016.

Stafford has also been successful with his new organization. He spent 12 seasons in Detroit after being selected with the No. 1 overall pick in 2009.

The 36-year-old led Los Angeles to a Super Bowl victory in 2022.

Stafford ended the contest with one touchdown and 317 passing yards, completing 34-of-49 pass attempts.
