Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams had a blazing start to his third year in the NFL.

Against the Los Angeles Rams at home on Sunday, the former Alabama Crimson Tide wideout picked apart the opposing secondary for 121 receiving yards and a touchdown on five catches and nine targets in a 26-20 win. A big chunk of his total yardage came off a sensational 52-yard touchdown score in the third quarter that put Detroit up by 14 points.

Williams looked confident in his abilities on the field, as he helped the Lions slice through Los Angeles’ defense against the pass for 200 yards. He seemingly admitted to feeling like a rookie, though, behind the podium following the contest.

“I ain't never did this before,” a smiling Williams told reporters in the postgame press conference.

"He's legit... Lions offense going to be ridiculous this year," said X (formerly Twitter) user @HowUBenFeller.

"PLENTY more to come young fella!" commented @onetimecards. "Great game when they zoned in on the Sun God 🙏"

"Kid balled out. Lions found themselves a legit WR1," shared @The_BroDad.

"Get used to it young Lion!" chimed in @LionsRoar84. " We knew you were capable of this, and in addition to your talent, my favorite thing about you is how you always put your teammates above yourself, as they do in return. That's what makes our Detroit Lions so rare and outstanding!"

From @Madhan_170804: "Like Jameson Williams had a memorable moment! It's great to see athletes enjoying their spotlight."

Via @BeniwalRajesh1: "A crowd favourite… a party pleaser Jameson Williams"

Williams left fans online admiring his performance in the game and his candidness after the win.

Williams struggled to establish himself as a consistent downfield weapon for the Lions in his first two years in the league due to injury in 2022 and a suspenson in 2023. But with those issues behind him now, it appears that Williams is ready to finally have the kind of season the Lions expected him to have when they took him 12th overall in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft.

Williams will look to sustain his momentum in Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home.
