The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were able to get the win in Week 1 against the Washington Commanders 37-20, and it was due in large part to the fantastic play of the team's quarterback.

Many thought that Baker Mayfield having the best season of his career in 2023 was just a one season thing. But in Sunday's win, he was able to have one of, if not the best game by a quarterback so far in Week 1.

He finished with 289 passing yards on while completing 24 of his 30 passes, which means that his completion percentage was an absurd 80 percent. He also threw for four touchdowns to three different players, as he was spreading the ball around.

Liam Coen's offense was humming in his first game as coordinator here, proving that the team can have success even now that Dave Canales is with the Carolina Panthers.

Mayfield and the Bucs will have a tougher challenge in Week 2 of the regular season, as they will be up against the Detroit Lions. The 29-year-old field general will be looking to further prove that he is here to stay - and that his realization of the talent that once made him the No. 1 pick in his NFL draft is no fluke - by taking down a contender.
