The Clippers and Lakers playing co-hosts at the Crypto.com arena is a thing of the past. Come October 2024, Coach Ty Lue and his team will have a new address for their home games. The highly anticipated $2 billion Intuit Dome is set to give fans a one-of-a-kind viewing experience.

Away from the shadows of the Purple and Gold, the Clippers now have a home over which they can claim complete ownership. Recently, former Lakers champion James Worthy shared his reaction to the new situation in the City of Angels.

The Hall of Famer felt it was a step in the right direction, applauding Ballmer and his team for this landmark achievement. Worthy added that the Clippers owner was not only developing an identity but also boosting the economy of Inglewood.

Having played his entire decorated career with the Lakers, Worthy is well aware of the franchise's special status among the LA people. As a consequence, the Clippers have always been subject to second-class treatment.

Therefore, having their home arena should have been long in the making. Nevertheless, Big Game James gave Ballmer his props for doing a phenomenal job.

“I'm happy to see that their owner, Ballmer, has taken a lot of interest in the city of Inglewood, creating jobs and housing,” said the 1988 Finals MVP . “He's got a great arena over there. I mean, it's a great arena. He's a tech guy, and right beside SoFi, so the Clippers finally have a home that they can call their own. They don't have to look up and see Lakers championship banners, even though they covered them up, so it's nice that they have that.

Worthy reminisced how the team came from San Diego to LA, stating that he knew people in the sales and tickets departments were doing a great job for the Clips.

Intuit Dome set to redefine sports viewing experience

Addressed as Ballmer’s love letter to the Clippers fan, the Intuit Dome boasts state-of-the-art amenities. Having a sitting capacity of 18,000, the $2 billion architectural marvel has charging ports on each seat and 3x the toilets of the average NBA arena.

One of its biggest USPs is the Halo Board, spanning over an acre. The double-sided scoreboard will be a treat for fans, giving them insights about all the happenings in the game.
