As a broadcasting novice, Tom Brady is bound to face challenges, which includes getting criticism from his colleagues.

Brady's inaugural NFL game as a broadcaster was somewhat uneven, which was perhaps to be anticipated, given the ease with which the future Hall of Famer played football.

His commentary during Fox Sports' coverage of the Dallas Cowboys' victory over the Cleveland Browns had its highlights, but he also faced considerable criticism for his performance.

Unexpectedly, some of the critiques came from Scott Hanson. The NFL RedZone host grabbed headlines on Sunday by stating that Brady needed "to get more excited in the booth" during the Cowboys' attempt at a 71-yard field goal.

On Monday, Hanson issued an apology for his remarks, posting on X (formerly Twitter) that they were "unfair and inconsiderate," even though they were meant in jest. He also stressed his support for Brady's success in his new career.

"This was unfair & inconsiderate by me," Hanson said. "Yes, I was saying it tongue in cheek - but I didn’t calculate how it may come across. @TomBrady, I apologize. I promise I am rooting you on in this new venture!"

Brady will return to the commentary booth on Sept. 15. He will be commentating on the Cowboys game once more as they host the New Orleans Saints to AT&T Stadium for their season home opener.
