According to FanDuel , the top five players favored to win the Heisman after Week 2 are Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers, Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cameron Ward, Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck, Ole Miss Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart, and Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe. Texas beat the Michigan Wolverines, 31-12, in Week 2.

On a recent episode of " The Joel Klatt Show ," Ewers was praised for his efforts in Week 2. Ewers had 246 passing yards and three touchdowns in the win. Joel Klatt broke down some of the top games from Week 2 on the latest episode and said that the Texas QB was his favorite to win the Heisman.

"...There was a couple of times in particular in that first quarter and more specifically on third down that he was able to get himself loose, and that's what was creating the bigger plays, the explosive plays for Texas down the field," Klatt said. "He did a great job of that. Quinn Ewers is right now my favorite for the Heisman trophy based on what I saw on Saturday."

It has been a long time since a player from Texas won the Heisman. To find the last Heisman winner from Texas, you must return to 1998. Former Texas running back Ricky Williams won the award that year. Williams finished that season with 2,124 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns.

Before Williams' Heisman, former Longhorns running back Earl Campbell won the trophy in 1977.

Ewers has 506 passing yards, six touchdowns, and one interception after the season's first two games.

Texas faces the UTSA Roadrunners in Week 3. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET on Sept. 14.
